Trita Parsi: A Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

On October 5, 2011, Michael Rubin wrote an article  that was published in Commentary Magazine titled Iran Apologist's Disturbing Postings where he revealed some of the Google Group exchanges between Trita (Terita) Parsi and his adversaries which sheds some light into his personality. The series of  exchanges show an erratic and out of control Uppsala University student filled with hate and animosity toward Israel and the U.S.

Having followed and read Trita Parsi for sometime, I have come to know him for who he actually is and what he stands for. On one hand, Parsi pretends to represent Iranian-Americans and more recently human rights, while on the other hand, he does everything in his power to advocate for US policies which are only favorable to the theocratic dictatorship currently destroying Iran and violating her citizens in the most horrendous ways.

Why would Trita, an individual who loathes the United States, would want to come here and benefit from our educational system and move in and live with Bob Ney a powerful yet corrupt political figure and  serve as his policy advisor, unless he was determined to silently and insidiously infiltrate our political system to advance Islamic Republic's agenda.

If one examines the people and organizations Trita is associated with, it becomes obvious that he does not have the interests of Iranian-Americans and the United States in mind. Trita's comrades proudly wear Palestinian keffiyeh  seemingly, to express their support for the Palestinian cause, but in reality they wear it as a symbol of Antisemitism and in opposition to Israel and the United States.

There is a tendency to diminish the collaboration between and the influence of the Islamists and the left in the United States. But, the treacherous alliance of left-wing and right-wing merits attention. Many years ago, the Shah of Iran referred to this phenomenon as "the unholy alliance of red and black."  Atheistic leftists and right wing Islamic fanatics worked together to gain power and rule Iran, starting in the late 1940s. 

A series of emails that are a part of Google Groups discussion called soc.culture.iranian dating back to a period between 1995-2005, show heated exchanges between pro IRI and Pro USA groups.

At the time Trita (Terita) Parsi (used his real name which he spelled as Terita) was a student at Uppsala University in Sweden. During the time when the Islamic Republic was linked to the U.S. Embassy and Marine Barracks bombings and pursuant to mistakenly shooting down of an Iranian passenger plane by the United States, Terita sends yet another fiery email to a TymoGee character that reveals more of Trita's anti-American attitude.

In reaction to TymoGee's statement: "Just consider it a delayed retaliation for kidnapping our citizens in 1979."

Trita (Terita Parsi) responds: "Well, in that case consdier the PAN AM bomb a delayed retaliation for the US gunning down an Iranian Airbus July 3rd 1988 over IRANIAN waters."

In the exchange above "TymoGee" seems to brag about the downing of Iran's passenger plane as  a retaliatory measure by the United States in reaction to IRI occupying the US embassy and taking the Americans hostage, Terita erratically responds by bringing up the Pan Am bombing by the Libyan leader Moamar Qaddafi and perhaps the covert connection and cooperation between Iran and Libya which brought down the PAN AM flight 103 which killed all 243 passengers plus 11 in Lockerbie, Scotland.

Various Iranian-American pro-democracy groups have been suspicious of Trita Parsi ever since he formed his first lobby organization and distance themselves from him and his organization.

It is alarming how an anti-Semitic, America hating, Jekyll and Hyde Trita Parsi has been allowed to roam the halls of Congress and have access to high ranking and influential politicians. Trita only gives lip service to human rights violation by the murderous regime while he tries to sweep IRI crimes under the rug, pushes for easing of sanctions and attempts to buy time for the mullahs to build their nuclear bomb.

There is coordination of efforts between Islamists (CAIR) and NIAC according to Clare Lopez.  Both organizations advocate for policies favorable to Hamas, Hezbollah and the Islamic Republic.

Seeing a picture of Trita with his friend, Hooman Majd, a former Khatami and Ahmadinejad UN translator, and frequent NPR and PBS guest showing off his Kefiyeh around his neck gives one an uneasy feeling.  Seyyed Hooman Majd's website shows that he is a descendant of the Muhammad and shows pictures of his grandfathers, both Shiia clerks. Hooman's website (10/15/2011) also shows a picture of his father in 1940's in a military uniform belonging to the Tudeh (Communist) Party of Iran.

Facts are stubborn things! Perhaps, in the near future, we might just see similar photos of Trita alongside his other comrades and  terrorist sympathizers.  Internet can indeed be a blessing and a curse. Trita, comrade Hooman and their ayatollahs will beg to differ, no doubt!
