Are We on the Brink of War With Iran?
PDMI's reaction:
Trita Parsi, a known Islamic Republic lobbyist and apologist whose sole purpose is the survival of the theocratic regime, as usual can try to blame Israel for the US's failed foreign policies. However, if there is any blame it should be put squarely on the regime leadership and Iran lobbyists such as Trita Parsi (NIAC, CASMII, AIC, CAIR, and a slew of others) lap.
Ardeshire Ommani, Executive Director of AIFC recently stated that in February 2011 alone, NIAC told more than 800 lies.
Leveretts in their recent article regrading Trita' recent propaganda filled book have said: "... Single Roll of the Dice is .... blending distorted treatments of key issues and episodes into a deeply misleading account. " and they are both right.
In as much as I consider all above mentioned groups as IRI lobbyists working for the survival of the regime, but a different faction within the regime, Parsi yet lists 4 ridiculous "blame it on Israel and US" nonsense, much like what he has stated in his book:
1. He talks about "tight deadline", ...Parsi is new to the United States and rather young and new to the political scene and is not even an American to accurately assess the whole situation before he spews his nonsense. To begin with, the United States has been extending its arms and bending backward for a friendly relationship with the fanatical regime in Iran, ever since the hijacked Iranian revolution of 1978. President Carter did everything is his power to assure regime leaders of his friendship- he even gave them a 25 year no interference guaranty and failed. In fact US administration after US administration, be it Republican or Democrat have tried to appease the mullahs and have failed miserably. So, for Parsi to ignore the facts and history is typical and that is what he gets paid to do. There has been a 32 year window and deadline for the regime to come to the negotiations table. Parsi dishonestly and conveniently ignores the fact that Khamenei is very suspicious of the United States and much like Khomeini, he considers the US as the "great Satan." Accordingly, as far as IRI is concerned, you do not go to bed with the "great Satan" you find ways to outsmart and deceive it. Dialogue and diplomacy, with or without Israel's influence with a regime that despises just about everything about the United States, is and has been futile. Parsi deceptively ignores IRI's daily rhetoric of the Islamic Supremacy and "evil empire" and regime's intent to wipe Israel off the map.
2. Parsi does not want you to believe that regime is building nuclear weapons. Even though many high ranking IAEA officials, have admitted that they have been fooled by the regime about their nuclear weapons' program. Iran's decision to build the bomb goes back to Khomeini era and Iran Iraq war (Parsi was too young to remember). Khomeini's desire was to invade Jerusalem [Israel] by the way of Baghdad and being forced to a true with Iraq and forced to drink the from the "Poison Chalice", Khomeini saw nuclear weaponsas the fastes and best means to achieve his heinous agenda. Parsi opts to remain silent on the issue and he has very good reasons.
3. Another nonsensical position of Trita Parsi is "give mullahs what they want." He considers IRI criminals as pragmatic beings, willing to negotiate with the US and "only if Israel was not in the way" absurdity. His claim that Israel pushed for sanctions before dialogue is utter nonsense. Fact is that even after IRI occupying the US embassy and holding American hostages, Carter was willing to work with the mullahs and overlook their fanaticism. However, administration after administration, misinformed by Parsi and his Washington ilk and his so called Iran experts, have exhausted just about every avenue to convince Mullahs to come to the negotiations table. It is not in the best interest of the mullahs to come and negotiate. Such comprehensive negotiations will entail forcing Iran not to fund Hamas and Hezbollah terror groups, curtail their assassinations of opposition leaders and foreign diplomats, working with Communist leaning countries in South America and observe human rights protocols. None of which mullahs will want to have on the negotiations' table.
4. The United States is the sworn enemy of the Islamic Republic and Obama in his naivete has done much damage and has weakened the US national security by "demilitarizing" the area. In fact NIAC's proposals and US admin's misguided policies have had the opposite effect. Mullahs determination to build the nuclear bomb, emerge as the superpower in the ME, and threaten their neighbors, its interference on Palestinian, Lebanese and Syrian and Bahrain's internal affairs, has intimidated Iran's neighbors to the point that they have been buying weapons for both the US and Russia in billions.
There are solutions of course for the US to get out of the dangerous situation it has created to itself listening to Trita who by the way was the mastermind behind Obama's absurd New Years speech legitimizing the mullahs and asking Obama to remain silent during Iran 2009 uprising.
First and foremost the US must kick all IRI lobbyists out of the White House and Congress.
Second, the US must surround itself with true and unbiased Iranian Americans who want and desire friendly relations between Israel, Iran and the US (we were friends and best allies 33 years ago) to formulate a sound policy and
Third: help Iranians pro democracy and secular opposition groups who are bravely fighting this regime with their bare hands despite mullahs arbitrary arrests, torture, rapes and killings.
Mr. Trita Parsi, your flawed logic and absurd rhetoric is getting old and your old dog "do not hunt no more!"
